Yogi Adityanath entered politics in 1998 when he was just 26 years old. He was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Gorakhpur. At that time, he was the youngest MP in India. He won five consecutive elections in 1998, 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014 from Gorakhpur.

During his time as an MP, he actively spoke on Hindutva, law and order, and development issues. He also founded Hindu Yuva Vahini, a youth organization that promotes Hindutva ideology.
